Miami Hurricanes Sweep Up Verbal Commitment from Versatile Swimmer Camille Weiss
NEW COMMIT: Bala Cynwyd, Pa. native Camille Weiss will head to the Sunshine State next fall after giving her verbal pledge to the University of Miami.
She will join Emily Grasso, Lucy Miller and Jacey Hinton as a member of the Canes’ class of 2025.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“Super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my swimming and academic career at the U! Both the team and the coaches are amazing and so welcoming. I fell in love with the culture and pride at Miami and am grateful to be joining the family. I want to thank my coach, Crystal Keelan for helping me get to this point, as well as my team and family for their constant support. Can’t wait to be a cane”
An extremely versatile swimmer, Weiss does her club swimming with Penn Charter Aquatic Club and is a Futures qualifier. She placed eighth in the 200 free and 14th in the 400 IM at Middle Atlantic Seniors in March 2019 and took 11th in both the 200 free and 1000 free at the NCAP Invitational in December.
Her best times include:
- 200 IM – 2:07.24
- 400 IM – 4:28.35
- 100 fly – 56.97
- 200 fly – 2:05.05
- 100 free – 52.19
- 200 free – 1:49.84
- 500 free – 4:56.86
- 1000 free – 10:13.18
Also competing for William Penn Charter School, Weiss is a six-time Eastern Interscholastic League Championship finalist. She placed third in the 200 free and fourth in the 500 free as a junior while collecting bronze in both of those events during her sophomore season. She was also the runner-up in both of those events in her rookie campaign.
