Julie Suarez Wins Twice As Miami Defeats FAU, Falls to FGCU

Due to pool heating issues, Miami’s meet against Florida Gulf Coast was cancelled on Friday. However, their originally scheduled meet on Saturday with Florida Atlantic became a double-dual meet with FGCU. Miami beat FAU, but fell to FGCU 166-111.
Julie Suarez led Miami by winning the 200 free (1:51.41) and the 100 free (51.48). Angela Algee took first in the 100 fly (55.53) and second in the 200 fly (2:02.45). My Fridell finished second in the 100 fly (56.03) and third in the 50 free (24.30). Roxanne Yu (56.37) and Christina Leander (56.48) placed second and third, respectively, in the 100 back. Yu also took second in the 200 back (2:01.16). Ksenia Yuskova claimed second in the 500 free (5:00.63) followed by teammate Cameron Davis (5:01.79). Divers Carolyn Chaney (300.70) and Marcela Maric (275.95) went 1-2 in the 1m diving event. They also went 1-2 in the 3m, with Maric taking first (307.30) and Chaney claiming second (291.55). The 200 free relay team of Yuskova, Suarez, Fridell, and Algee took second in 1:36.39 to conclude the meet.
Miami returns to the pool on January 30 as they travel up the road to compete against Florida International.
