Mena Boardman Will Become A Longhorn After 2026 Verbal Commitment
NEW COMMIT: The University of Texas has been on a roll this recruiting cycle, having recently earned a new verbal pledge for Fall 2026 from Olympic Trials qualifier Mena Boardman of Portland, Oregon.
She will join Avery Klamforth and Sydney Shoeck in Austin as a member of the Longhorns’ Class of 2030.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic careers at the University of Texas. I want to thank my friends, family, coaches, and everyone who has supported me throughout my swimming career. So grateful for the opportunity to become a longhorn. HOOK ‘EM”
A versatile swimmer, Boardman trains year-round with SOLO Aquatics in New Hampshire where she attends school. When back home in Oregon, she trains with Portland Aquatic Club.
Boardman raced the 100m fly this past summer at Olympic Trials before going on to win four events at Mount Hood Sectionals. Last December, she she was crowned the New England Senior champion in the 50 free, 100 free and 100 fly.
Her best times include:
- 100 fly – 51.62
- 100 back – 52.93
- 50 free – 22.22
- 100 free – 49.37
Boardman is a junior at Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire. She won the 50 free and 100 fly at the NEPSAC DI Championships as a sophomore after winning the 50 free and 100 back at the Eastern Interscholastic Championships.
The Longhorns, who now compete in the Southeastern Conference, have finished second at the NCAA Championships the past three seasons.
