Megan Kim of Nation’s Capital Swim Club Picks the University of Mary Washington
NEW COMMIT: The University of Mary Washington has received a new commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Megan Kim of Arlington, Va.
She told Swimming World:
“I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Mary Washington! a big thanks to my family, friends, coaches and teammates for helping me along the way!!”
Kim trains year-round with Nation’s Capital Swim Club and most recently earned two best times at the NCAP Gold Rush meet in November. She had a strong showing at the Potomac Valley Junior Championships last March after notching a lifetime best at the PVC LCM 13&O Championships in Summer 2019.
Her best times include:
- 200 IM – 2:19.86
- 400 IM – 4:53.10
- 100 breast – 1:13.33
- 200 free – 2:00.90
Also competing for Chantilly High School, Kim finished 12th in the 200 IM and 15th in the 100 breast at the Concorde Conference Championships during her junior season. As a sophomore, she took ninth in the 200 free and 16th in the 100 fly.
Under head coach Justin Anderson, the Eagles captured their 30th-straight Capital Athletic Conference Championships last season.
