McKenzie Grau Will Stay In State With Verbal to Ohio University
NEW COMMIT: Hailing from Mason, McKenzie Grau has elected to stay in-state next fall with her recent verbal commitment to Ohio University.
Grau does her club swimming with Mason Manta Rays and owns a pair of Junior National cuts. She capped off the summer season with four best times at NCSAs and made four finals appearances at the Eastern Invitational. In March, she raced at the ISCA Junior National Championships and had five second swims.
Grau has represented Mason High School at the Ohio State Championships the past two seasons. The NISCA All-American finished fifth in the 50 free and 16th in the 500 free during her junior season after racing the splash-and-dash at State as a sophomore.
She told Swimming World:
“I’m incredibly excited to announce that I will be pursuing my college swimming career at Ohio University in Athens. Thank you to my family, coaches and friends that have helped me pursue this goal along the way. Go bobcats!”
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 23.42
- 100 free – 52.23
- 200 IM – 2:06.01
- 100 breast – 1:05.61
Grau will be extremely valuable when she suits up for the Bobcats at the start of the 2019-20 season. Her best 50 free time would’ve been the third-fastest on the team last season and scored in the B-final of the 2018 MAC Championships.

Congratulations McKenzie!??
