BATON ROUGE, La. USMS swimmers Florence Carr, 76, and Chuck Baldwin, 71, set USMS records at the recent National Senior Games swimming competition in Baton Rouge, La.
Carr, who represents Florida Maverick Masters, swam the fastest-ever 50-yard freestyle for women 75-79, 36.13 seconds. She also won the 100 freestyle in 1:20.38 – faster than the listed record in her age group, but just off the time she swam at the recent YMCA Nationals.
Baldwin, a Team Texas competitor, won the 100 yard breaststroke in record fashion with a 1:19.92, tops all-time in the 70-74 age category for men.
Complete results and photos of the meet, attended by over 500 swimmers, are available at http://www.crawfishaquatics.com/nsgwebpage.htm.
