Marco Koch Uncorks 2:07.88 To Win 200 Breast in Germany
Already the top-ranked swimmer in the world in the 200 breast with a 2:07.69 from the Luxembourg Euro Meet, Marco Koch clocked the second-best time this year at the 2016 German Nationals.
Koch raced his way to a time of 2:07.88, just off his best time this year, and easily under the German Olympic selection time of 2:10.43.
Fabian Schwingenschlogl, fresh off a strong NCAA performance for Missouri, took second in 2:11.52 to miss an Olympic spot in this event.
Max Pilger (2:12.01) and Christian vom Lehn (2:12.07) battled it out for third-place honors.
