Magnolia Aquatic Club’s Sydney Roycraft Verbally Commits to LSU Tigers
NEW COMMIT: Louisiana State University has earned another verbal commitment for the fall of 2020, this time from The Woodlands, Texas native Sydney Roycraft who will join Jadyn Jannasch, Allison Tomsuden and Reagan Osborne as members of the Tigers’ class of 2024.
Roycraft, who owns the Winter Juniors standard in the 100m back, does her club swimming with Magnolia Aquatic Club and recently finaled in both backstroke events at College Station Speedo Sectionals in March. She raced the 100/200 back combo at Juniors West in December and placed eighth in the 100m back at Rochester Futures last summer.
Also competing for The Woodlands High School, Roycraft finished seventh in the 100 back at the Texas UIL 6A State Championships as a junior after taking 13th in that event during her sophomore season. She has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors for her efforts.
She told Swimming World:

- 50 back – 26.73
- 100 back – 56.31
- 200 back – 2:01.56
- 200 IM – 2:09.55
When she suits up for the Tigers at the start of the 2020-21 season, Roycraft will add her talents to a backstroke group that’ll be led by Brittany Thompson. Although she’s just shy of scoring range at the SEC Championships, she has continuously made improvements each season with over a year to go before arriving in Baton Rouge.
