Macalester College Adds Ramier Villarama of Scarlet Aquatics to Class of 2025
NEW COMMIT: Macalester College has picked up a new commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Ramier Villarama of Bayonne, N.J.
Regarding his commitment, she said:
“I am extremely excited to finally announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic careers at Macalester College! A big thank you to all my coaches, teammates, friends, and family who have supported and helped me get to this point! I would like to also thank Coach Kyllian and Coach Wilson for giving me this awesome opportunity and I am looking forward to being a part of the team!”
Villarama does his club swimming with Scarlet Aquatics and competed at his team’s intrasquad meet last month. Also competing for Bayonne High School, he earned a best time at the Hudson County Swimming Championships back in February after racing three events at the HCIAL Championships.
His best times include:
- 50 free – 25.70
- 100 free – 54.60
- 50 back – 29.04
- 100 back – 1:01.10
- 100 fly – 1:00.42
When he arrives on campus as a member of the Class of 2025, Villarama will add valuable depth both individually and on relays. Under head coach Kyllian Griffin, the Scots finished seventh overall in the team standings at the 2020 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships.
