LSU Tigers Secure In-State Verbal from Junior National Qualifier Christian Booth

NEW COMMIT: Louisiana State University has successfully kept Christian Booth of Shreveport, La. in-state for the fall of 2021.

He will join Gavin Rogers, Nick Toepfer, and Brendan Hausdorf in Baton Rouge as members of the Tigers’ class of 2025.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“Extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at LSU. I want to thank God, my family, and my coaches that helped me get here. #GeauxTigers”

A talented backstroker and sprint freestyler, Booth trains with Louisiana Aquatic Club and placed 19th in the 100m back at College Station Sectionals in March after winning that event at Louisiana Seniors in February. In summer 2019, he earned 100% best times at the Louisiana 13&O LCM Championships where he was the 200m back runner-up and placed fourth in the 100m back.

His best times include:

  • 50 free – 21.92
  • 100 free – 48.51
  • 100 back – 49.66
  • 200 back – 1:49.58

Also competing for Calvary Baptist Academy, Booth is a six-time individual Louisiana State Championship finalist. He placed third in the 100 back and fifth in the 100 free as a junior at the DIV meet while taking second in the 100 back and third in the 100 fly at the DIII meet during his sophomore season.
