LSU Swims to Dual Meet Wins With Houston, Tulane, Behind Michaela De Villiers
The LSU women’s swimming and diving team earned a pair of non-conference wins on Saturday.
The Tigers defeated Houston 165-97 and also beat Tulane 199-63.
LSU opened the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay. Valeriia Egorova, Zoe Carlos-Broc, Sofia Sartori and Jessie Liao won the event in 1:39.77.
Egorova won the 200 backstroke in 1:54.49, going 1-2 with Sartori (1:54.84).
LSU’s Helen Sava won the 1000 free (10:00.66). Reagan Osborne won the 200 free in 1:46.44. Jenna Bridges won the 200 butterfly in 1:58.75. Michaela De Villiers won the 50 free in 22.55 and 100 free in 49.33. Helle Tuxen won 3-meter diving with a score of 312.15. Grace Palmer won the 200 breast in 2:10.59. Nicole Santuliana won the 500 free in 4:46.09. Montserrat Lavenant won 1-meter diving with a score of 312.55. Chloe Cheng won the 400 IM in 4:16.53.
The final relay went to the Tigers as well with Lio, De Villiers, Megan Barnes and Carlos-Broc going a 3:17.85 in the 400 free relay.
Houston’s Lottie Cullen won the 100 backstroke in 52.33. Henrietta Fangli won the 100 breast in 1:00.31 for the Cougars. Adelaide Meuter won the 100 fly in 54.28.
