LSU Receives Commitment from Dynamo Swim Club’s Brooks Curry
NEW COMMIT: Louisiana State University has gained a new commitment for the fall of 2019 from Dunwoody, Georgia’s Brooks Curry.
Curry, who owns three Winter Juniors standards, competes for Dynamo Swim Club and most recently achieved 100% best times at Juniors Easts in December where he placed 19th in the 50 free. He concluded his summer long course season with a 10th-place showing in the 50m free at Cary Futures after finaling five times at the Richard Quick Invite in June. He had four top-15 finishes at the 2017 Georgia SCY Seniors and finished 14th in the splash-and-dash at the Southern Premier Invitational last March.
He told Swimming World:
“I’m very excited to swim for LSU in the fall. Such a great school and awesome coaches. I am very grateful to my family, coaches and teachers who have supported me over the years. I can’t wait to get to Baton Rouge. Geaux tigers!”
His best times include:
- 50 free – 20.65
- 100 free – 45.19
- 200 free – 1:40.82
- 100 back – 50.94
Although he’s not quite in scoring range just yet at the SEC Championships, Curry has continuously made improvements each season. When he arrives in Baton Rouge as a member of the class of 2023, he’ll add his talents to training groups that’ll include Lewis Clough and Karl Luht.
