Louisville Starts 2025 Recruiting With Verbal From Nate Thomas
NEW COMMIT: The University of Louisville has picked up its first verbal commitment for the 2025-26 season and beyond on the men’s team from backstroker and IMer Nate Thomas of Jackson, Missouri.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I’m thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Louisville!! I’d like to thank my family, coaches, and friends who have helped me through this process. I’m super thankful for the opportunity to swim at UofL.”
Thomas does his club swimming with River City Aquatics and placed seventh in the 100m back as well as ninth in the 200m back at San Antonio Futures this past summer. He took fourth in the 100m back, 200m back and 200m IM at Austin Sectionals two weeks prior.
In March, he was the 200 back champion and 100 back runner-up at Columbia Sectionals.
His best times include:
- 200 back – 1:45.42
- 100 back – 49.30
- 50 back – 23.03
- 200 IM – 1:52.12
- 400 IM – 4:00.60
Currently a junior at Jackson High School, Thomas earned silver in the 200 IM and bronze in the 100 back at the 2021 Missouri Class 1 State Championships.
