The No. 11/15 University of Louisville men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will not be back in action this weekend as the dual meet with the No. 9/19 Missouri has been cancelled due to a high volume of positives test for the Tigers.

The Cardinals, who are fresh from their training trip over the holidays, have not competed in a dual meet since Oct. 21 when they fell to Tennessee. The Cards last team outing was at the Purdue Invitational Nov. 18-20, where both teams finished second in the six-team field.

The No. 11 ranked Louisville men are headlined by Nick Albiero, who has top 30 times in the 200 back and the 100 fly, Mitchell Whyte, who has Top 30 times in both the 100 and 200 back and Evgenii Somov, who has times in the 100 and 200 breaststroke that rank in the Top 30 as well.

The No. 15-ranked Louisville women are led by a pair of versatile swimmers in Arina Openysheva, who is ranked nationally in the 100, 200 and 500 freestyle events. Abby Hay is nationally ranked in the 100 and 200 fly and the 200 and 400 IM events. Gabi Albiero is ranked in the 100 free, the 100 and 200 fly with fellow sophomore Tristen Ulett clocking Top 50 times in the 100 fly, 200 fly and the 200 IM.

The Cards are ranked in all five relays with the women’s 400 free relay posting a Top 7 time as the leader.
