Longhorn Aquatics’ Sadie Runeman Verbally Commits to Texas for Class of 2025
NEW COMMIT: The University of Texas has gained a new addition for their growing class of 2025 from local standout Sadie Runeman. Runeman recently moved to Austin from Milford, Mass.
She will suit up for the Longhorns at the start of the 2021-22 season along with Riley Courtney, Channing Hanley, Ava Collinge, Jordan Morgan, Morgan Brophy, Ellie Andrews and Olivia McMurray.
Her best times include:
- 100 back – 55.72
- 200 back – 1:58.39
- 200 free – 1:52.29
- 500 free – 4:59.72
- 100 breast – 1:04.46
- 200 IM – 2:04.66
No stranger to Texas’ program, Runeman does her club swimming with Longhorn Aquatics and owns a pair of Junior National cuts. She most recently placed 11th in the 200m back and 12th in the 100m back at College Station Sectionals after racing three events at Juniors West in December. Last summer, she achieved three best times and recorded a pair of top-15 finishes at Austin Sectionals.
Also competing for Westwood High School, Runeman placed fifth in the 100 back and 12th in the 200 IM at the Texas 6A State Championships as a junior. She has also earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors twice in her career thus far.
Under head coach Carol Capitani, the Longhorns won their eighth-straight Big 12 team title in 2020.
