Logan Deal of Hanover Aquatics Will Remain In State With Verbal Commitment to Roanoke College
NEW COMMIT: Roanoke College has landed an in-state verbal commitment for the 2021-22 season and beyond from versatile Logan Deal of Mechanicsville, Va.
He told Swimming World:
“I’m excited to announce my commitment and acceptance to swim for Roanoke College! I appreciate the continuous support from my family, coaches, and friends as I pursue my goals. I can’t wait to be a Maroon!”
Deal does his club swimming with Hanover Aquatics Inc. and most recently earned five best times at Virginia Seniors where his highest finish was a 23rd-place showing in the 100 free. He posted five top-16 finishes at the VSTP Invitational in December and finaled in the 100m breast at Virginia LCM Seniors last summer.
His best times include:
- 50 breast – 27.65
- 100 breast – 59.11
- 200 IM – 1:58.67
- 50 free – 21.94
- 100 free – 47.57
- 200 free – 1:46.81
- 100 fly – 54.65
Also competing for Lee Davis High School, Deal is a four-time Virginia State Championship finalist. He placed fourth in the 100 breast and ninth in the 200 IM as a junior at the 4A meet while taking 16th and ninth, respectively, in those events at the 5A meet during his sophomore season.
Deal will make a big impact both individually and on relays when he suits up for the Maroons as a member of the Class of 2025. He would’ve scored in the A-final of the 200 IM, 100 breast and 100 free as well as the B-final of the 50 free and 100 fly at the 2020 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships where Roanoke were the team runners-up.
