Livermore Aquacowboys Seniors Gabby Kleman & Gabe Benitez Announce Class of 2025 Commitments
The Livermore Aquacowboys recently announced two college commitments for senior Gabe Benitez and junior Gabby Kleman. Both athletes are lifelong friends and attend Granada High School in Livermore, CA.
When asked about both athletes, Aquacowboys head coach Alex Silver spoke with pride:
“Gabby and Gabe embody growth mindset. Each of them have improved each year by focusing on creating small wins each day in efficiency, mobility, strength, resilience, and endurance. Both are leaders in and out of the pool.”
Gabe Benitez
Benitez announced in February a commitment to swim at California Lutheran University, a private Division III four-year university in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Benitez has excelled as a distance freestyler in the last year, setting new best times in February in the 100, 200, 500, 1000, and 1650 yard freestyles, as well as the 200 individual medley. Cal Lutheran placed fifth at the 2025 SCIAC Championships. Benitez’s times (all listed in SCY) will put him in a position of immediate impact for the Kingsman in the fall, particularly compared to the all-time performances list at the school.

Gabby Kleman
A rapidly developing middle distance breaststroke and individual medley specialist, Kleman announced a verbal commitment to the Division I UC Davis Aggies earlier this month. The junior has excelled in her signature events to earn a spot on the Aggies roster.
At the 2025 Big West Championships, Kleman’s best time in the 200 IM (2:04.96) and 200 breaststroke (2:20.13) would have earned her a spot in the B-Final. The Aggies placed fourth out of six teams in the conference.
