Lilly King completed her sweep of the breaststroke events here at the 2017 US National Championships in Indiana this evening with a ridiculously fast 1:04.95 for first place. Along with second-place Katie Meili, with whom King has been competing and training with since before Trials last year, King will have the chance to swim the event at World Championships in Budapest.
While she admitted that the last 15 meters of the race were painful, when King was asked what she has learned about herself over the course of this meet, she quipped, “that I can keep winning!” Her confidence and energy will be a strong asset to the U.S. Championship team next month in Budapest.
