Lilly King of Indiana delivered a dominating performance in the finals of the women’s 100 breast at the 2017 Women’s Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championships, hosted by Purdue University.
King, the current American, NCAA, B1G, and pool record holder, smashed a series of her own records en route to the gold medal and her second individual win of the meet.
The 20-year-old Olympian stopped the clock at a sizzling 56.30 to reset the entire record book. Her time lowers her own American, NCAA and B1G record of 56.85, along with the B1G Championship meet record of 57.35, and the pool record of 57.46.

That would be a world record? Both short course and long course. And faster than the men’s long course world record. Is this a typo????
It in yards not meters, still blazing fast!!
This is short course yards, which doesn’t count for much outside of national level meets.
yes doesnt count for much…….what a moronic comment…wow the humility on here is amazing…i wonder how many records you hold that dont count for much..lol
Right, that makes much more sense. They should really amend the article to say that rather than just describing it as “100” because it’s not 100 metres. It’s 91.44m.
Still an amazing swim nonetheless. Just lacking the important details.
It does say that the race was in yards.
(I’m Aussie too and we don’t use yards here)
Haha, Canada doesn’t use yards either
56.3?!? Not possible
50 yards, not 50 meters.
100 yards, not 50.
Thanks for clarifying, mates.
Wow…..how can this be? Breaststroke?!?!
Crazy!
Holy smokes! Molly Hoch
Congratulations

Awesome
Wonderful achievement.
Woohoo!
Guys, SCY means short course yards. It’s right there in the title. Also, beastly swim from a total badass.
