Lauren Perdue Helps Recap Night Two of Junior Nationals
GREENSBORO, North Carolina, December 13. AFTER the second of three nights of competition at Speedo Junior Nationals, Olympic gold medalist Lauren Perdue joined Swimming World correspondent David Rieder to recap and analyze the day’s action. Perdue won her gold medal at the 2012 Olympics as a member of the American women’s 800 free relay.
Perdue returned to the Greensboro Aquatic Center for the first time since swimming the ACC Championships her senior season this past February. Perdue now swims at SwimMAC Carolina in Charlotte with her sights set on this summer’s National Championships in Irvine. She awarded medals in a pair of races tonight, including as the SwimMAC representative for the 200 medley relay after the team of Kathleen Baker, Maija Roses, Alyssa Marsh, and Lauren Rhodes put up a meet record.
Rieder and Perdue discussed an onslaught at the meet record books, highlighted by impressive performances from Ella Eastin in the women’s 400 IM and Dylan Carter in the women’s 200 free.
