Lady Vols Add Verbal From New Zealand Record Holder Laura Littlejohn for 2023
NEW COMMIT: The University of Tennessee has picked up a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2023 from Hamilton, New Zealand native Laura Littlejohn.
She will join Molly Blanchard, Tori Brostowitz, Camille Spink and Sophie Brison as a member of the Lady Vols’ Class of 2027.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I chose Tennessee because of their creative and fun coaching environment, their awesome support for international athletes and their programs that help athletes develop beyond the swimming pool. I feel so grateful to get the opportunity to work with Coach Matt and this amazing team.”
Littlejohn is the current New Zealand national age group record holder in the 50m free, 100m free, 100m IM, 200m IM and 50m fly.
She won the 50m free and 100m free at the New Zealand Championships in April. Back in December, she placed 18th in the 100 free, 20th in the 100 IM and 24th in the 50 free at the 15th FINA World Short Course Championships. She does her club swimming with Saint Paul’s Swimming Club and attends St. Paul’s Collegiate School.
In SCM, her best times include:
- 5m free – 24.85
- 100m free – 53.92
- 200m IM – 2:10.61
- 50m fly – 26.53
In SCY, those times convert to:
- 50 free – 22.38
- 100 free – 48.57
- 200 IM – 1:57.66
- 50 fly – 23.90
Littlejohn’s best times (converted to yards) are already fast enough to score in the B-final of the 50 free, 100 free, and 200 IM at the 2022 SEC Championships.
She will join her older siblings in the NCAA: Her brother, Ben Littlejohn, is a swimmer at Harvard and her sister, Kate Littlejohn, is a rower at Stanford.
