Lady Vols Add Another for 2021 from Junior National Finalist Sara Stotler
NEW COMMIT: The Lady Vols have landed their seventh early verbal commitment for the class of 2025 from Sara Stotler of Middleburg, Fla.
Stotler, who owns six U.S. Open standards, does her club swimming with Planet Swim Aquatics. She placed 22nd in the 100m fly this past summer at Junior Nationals after recording three top-10 finishes at Gainesville Sectionals. Last winter, she raced four events at Nationals before going on to take 11th in the 100 fly at Juniors East.
A current junior at Clay High School, Stotler is a five-time Florida 2A State Championship finalist and has earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors twice in her career thus far. She most recently earned silver in both the 100 fly and 200 IM, won the 100 fly as a sophomore, and took second in the 100 fly and third in the 200 free during her freshman season.
In SCY, her best times include:
- 100 fly – 53.92
- 200 fly – 1:59.42
- 200 IM – 2:02.09
- 400 IM – 4:25.86
- 200 free – 1:49.69
- 200 back – 2:00.49
In LCM, her best times include:
- 100m fly – 1:01.21
- 200m fly – 2:17.32
- 200m IM – 2:19.68
- 400m IM – 4:59.07
- 200m free – 2:03.75
Stotler will add valuable butterfly and IM depth to the Lady Vols’ lineup when she arrives at Rocky Top. She’s just on the brink of scoring range at the SEC Championship level but has consistently made improvements each season. She’ll also arrive in Knoxville for the start of the 2021-22 season along with Kate McCarville, Lauren Wetherell, Summer Eaker, Josephine Fuller, Summer Smith and Asia Minnes.
