Lady Vols Add Another for 2021-22 Season from Juniors Finalist Amber Myers
NEW COMMIT: Backstroker and sprint freestyler Amber Myers of Granite Bay, Calif. has given the University of Tennessee another verbal commitment to their growing class of 2025.
Myers does her club swimming with Sierra Marlins Swim Team and owns four Junior National standards. She most recently placed 12th in the 200 back, 15th in the 100 back, and 24th in the 50 free at Juniors West and earned two best times at Junior Nationals this past summer.
A current junior at Granite Bay High School, Myers raced to fourth in the 100 back during her sophomore season at the CIF State Championships. The two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American is also a four-time CIF San-Joaquin Section Championship finalist, most recently finishing third in the 100 back and fifth in the 100 fly in 2019.
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 23.25
- 100 free – 50.74
- 200 free – 1:49.89
- 50 back – 25.63
- 100 back – 54.83
- 200 back – 1:58.72
Myers will add valuable freestyle and backstroke depth to the Lady Vols’ lineup when she arrives at Rocky Top next fall. She’s just on the brink of scoring range at the SEC Championship level but has consistently made improvements each season.
She’ll arrive in Knoxville for the start of the 2021-22 season along with Sara Stotler, Kate McCarville, Lauren Wetherell, Summer Eaker, Josephine Fuller, Summer Smith and Asia Minnes.
