Kristof Rasovszky And Oceane Cassignol Claim Titles At LEN Open Water Cup

Olympic silver medallist Kristof Rasovszky and Oceane Cassignol won the men’s and women’s races at the first leg of the LEN Open Water Cup in Eilat.
Rasovszky, of Hungary, went ahead early on but then had to fend off an Italian group, edging out Domenico Acerenza by 0.03 with Gregorio Paltrinieri in third.
Rasovszky won in 1:55.35.2 ahead of Acerenza (1:55:35.5) and Paltrinieri (1:55:37.2).
Olympic champion Ana Cunha was the first to finish the women’s race with a margin of 1min 21secs but with the title available only to European competitors, it was Cassignol who took the honours.
The Frenchwoman won in 2:07:22.7 ahead of Ginevra Taddeucci (2:07:24.9) and Angelica Andre (2:07:30.2).
The second leg takes place in Piombino, Italy, on 13 May.
