Kristof Milak Will Not Return To Competition At World Cup In Budapest
Kristof Milak won’t be making his competitive comeback at the final leg of the World Cup in front of a home crowd in Budapest.
The Olympic 200 fly champion only returned to training at the start of last month, 11 weeks after withdrawing from the 2023 World Championships in Fukuoka with physical and mental exhaustion.
The three-time world champion had been slated to appear at the 2023 World Cup which concludes at the Duna Arena from Friday to Sunday.
However, Swimming World has learned this will now not be the case with Milak training once a week at most prompting national team head coach Csaba Sos to demand a change in approach.
It’s unclear when he will return to competition with the European Short-Course Championships the next major event on the horizon in Bucharest, Romania, in December.
