Krayzelburg Qualifies First in 200 Back
World record-holder Lenny Krayzelburg qualified first for semi-finals of the 200 back, swimming a smooth 1:58.79 (sans cap, as in his 100 back prelim).
Krayzelburg, 24 and representing Trojan, won the 100 back two days ago. His 100 back prelim swim of 53.67 was just off his 53.60 world record.
Aaron Piersol, 17 of Novaquatics, qualified second in 1:58.90. Tate Blahnik was third in 2:00.84, Luke Wagner fourth in 2:01.29, Bryce Hunt fifth in 2:01.36, Daniel Shevchik sixth in 2:01.43, Joey Faltraco seventh in 2:01.47 and Marc Lindsay eighth in 2:01.56.
Rounding out the semi-final are: Brian Walters (2:01.71), Brad Bridgewater (2:01.76), Kirk Hampleman (2:01.87), Trent Staley (2:02.23), Michael Jansen (2:02.81), Charles Barnes (2:02.91), Kris Souther (2:03.31) and Chris Kellam (2:03.98).
