Kingfish’s Connor Fitz Miller Sends Verbal Commitment to Miami Ohio
NEW COMMIT: Miami University of Ohio has gained a new verbal commitment for the class of 2023 from Norwood, Mass. native Fitz Miller.
Miller does his club swimming with Kingfish Swimming and owns the Junior National standard in the 100 back. At the TYR Senior Championships this summer, he posted four lifetime bests and finished eighth in the 200m back. He achieved 100% best times at Longhorn Aquatics Super Sectionals and was a five-time New England Age Group finalist. He raced a trio of events at Juniors East last winter and had a pair of second swims at New England Seniors.
He told Swimming World:
“I am honored and humbled to announce my verbal commitment to Miami University. Competing at a the DI level has been an aspiration of mine for as long as I can remember and I owe so much to my family, coaches, teammates, and peers for helping me realize this dream. I am so excited to become a RedHawk and was thoroughly impressed since the start of my process with the prestigious academics as well as talented coaching staff and athletes at Miami who are fully invested in success both in and out of the water. For them, winning is not a goal, it is an inevitability, and I am excited to be able to have the opportunity to be a part of this future success. #RiseUpRedHawks #LoveAndHonor”
His best times include:
- 100 back – 50.17
- 200 back – 1:48.81
- 100 fly – 50.64
- 100 free – 46.66
Miller will add valuable depth to the Redhawks’ backstroke group that includes Jacob Peloquin and Justin Andrews. He would’ve scored in the B-final of both backstroke events at the 2018 MAC Championships where Miami Ohio finished third in the team standings.
