LOS ANGELES, California, October 8. Madison Wright, the third-ranked recruit out of Michigan and 28th overall in Collegeswimming.com‘s recruiting rankings, is headed to the west coast for college after verbally committing to the University of Southern California.
Wright, who attends Waterford Kettering High School in Waterford, Mich. and trains with Kingfish Aquatic Club, will add to the Trojans’ depth in the mid-distance freestyle, butterfly and IM events as soon as she sets foot on campus next fall. Her top times include a 1:47.61 in the 200 free, 4:46.75 in the 500 free, 53.14 in the 100 fly, 1:55.30 in the 200 fly, 2:04.39 in the 200 IM and 4:25.15 in the 400 IM.
Her top times would already place in the scoring heats at the Pac-12 Championships. Wright’s 200 fly time would have finished third in 2014, while her 100 fly and 200 free would’ve made the B final and her 500 free would’ve placed in the C final.
Great fit. Congrats to both athlete and school!
