Kevin Cordes Tops Breast Prelims Again At 2015 FINA World Cup Singapore

After leading prelims in yesterday’s 50-meter breast, Kevin Cordes followed suit in today’s prelims session by securing the top spot in the men’s 100-meter breast with a 1:01.37. China’s Li Xiang clocked a 1:01.76 to get second, while Tommy Sucipto posted a 1:01.81 to take the third seed. Cameron Van Der Burgh earned the fourth seed after a comfortable 1:02.12.

Cate Campbell topped the women’s 100-meter free prelim with a 54.23, just ahead of Katinka Hosszu‘s 54.96. Another Campbell, Bronte Campbell, clocked a 55.01 to take the third seed. Cate led the way with the fastest first 50 split of 26.17.

Jeanette Ottensen cruised to a 26.56 in the women’s 50-meter fly to earn the top seed heading into finals. Holly Barratt took the second spot with a 26.89. Melanie Henrique just missed cracking 27 seconds with a 27.01 to take third.

Madeline Lye – 2:53.95 Women’s 200-meter breast

Zhong Qing Erasmus Ang – 2:20.95 Men’s 200-meter back
