Kentucky Wildcats Pick Up 2022 Verbal From U.S. Open Qualifier Kevin Glennon
NEW COMMIT: The University of Kentucky has received another verbal commitment for the fall of 2022 from U.S. Open qualifier Kevin Glennon out of South Lebanon, Ohio.
He will join Levi Sandidge, Ryan Merani, Brady McInerney, Logan Smith and Logan Ingerick as a member of the Wildcats’ Class of 2026.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I’m excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Kentucky! I am thankful for all the family, friends and coaches that have helped me along the way. GO CATS? #bbn”
A talented backstroker and butterflyer, Glennon does his club swimming with the Countryside Ralph Stolle YMCA. At the ISCA International Senior Cup back in March, he was the runner-up in the 200m IM and earned bronze in the 50m fly. He also recorded 10 best times at the 18&U Winter Championships – WI PX3 in December where he posted four top-6 finishes.
His best times include:

- 100 back – 48.99
- 200 back – 1:49.36
- 50 fly – 22.23
- 100 fly – 48.16
- 200 fly – 1:49.84
- 200 IM – 1:49.95
- 400 IM – 3:56.07
A rising senior at Kings Mills High School, Glennon is a four-time Ohio State Championship finalist. He placed third in the 100 fly and sixth in the 100 back as a junior while taking fifth and 12th, respectively, in those events during his sophomore season.
Glennon has made significant improvements in just the past year, dropping about a second in the 100 fly, nearly two seconds in the 100/200 back, four in the 200 IM, seven seconds in the 200 fly, and 12 in the 400 IM.
Under head coach Lars Jorgensen, the Wildcats finished seventh at the 2021 SEC Championships with 759 points, the highest score in program history.
