Kentucky HS Champion Rachel Klinker Verbally Commits to Cal

NEW COMMIT: Tates Creek High School junior Rachel Klinker has verbally committed to swim for the University of California- Berkley. Klinker will make the journey to the West Coast from Lexington, Kentucky, where she swims with the Lexington Dolphins.

She’s strongest in the 100-500 freestyle events, winning the 200 and 500 at the 2018 Kentucky High School swimming state championships. At Winter Juniors (East) Klinker raced in the B final of the 500 free and the C final of the 200 free.

Her best times are:

  • 100 Free 49.93
  • 200 Free 1:46.05
  • 500 Free 4:46.73
  • 1000 Free 9:51.23
  • 1650 Free 16:33.92
  • 200 Fly 1:57.92

She wrote on her CollegeSwimming profile,

“I chose the University of California because I believe it’s a perfect fit for me! Teri and Sarah coach an amazing team, and I can’t wait to be a part of it. Go Bears!”
