Kenisha Gupta, Emily Trieschmann Verbally Commit to Northwestern’s Class of 2025
NEW COMMITS: Northwestern University has picked up two new verbal commitments for the 2021-22 season and beyond from Kenisha Gupta of Mumbai, India, and Lake Worth, Fla. native Emily Trieschmann.
Both swimmers will join USA Swimming National Junior Teamer Ashley Strouse in Evanston, Ill. as members of the class of 2025.
KENISHA GUPTA
Primarily a sprint freestyler, Gupta does her club swimming with Nation’s Capital Swim Club and owns two Junior National cuts. She notched four lifetime bests at the NCAP Invitational in December. She also competes for Otters Club Mumbai.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to Northwestern University! I am so grateful for this opportunity and cannot wait to embark on this journey. Thank you to all my coaches, family, teachers, and friends who played a huge role in this. Go Cats!”
Her best times include:
- 50m free – 26.92
- 100m free – 58.14
- 50 free – 23.84
- 100 free – 52.41
While also representing the Indiana Swimming Federation, Gupta raced three events at the 7th FINA World Junior Championships in Budapest. She also finaled in four races at the 73rd Glenmark Senior National Championships in Bhopal this past fall.
EMILY TRIESCHMANN
A talented distance swimmer and IMer, Trieschmann does her club swimming with Saint Andrews Aquatics and owns five Junior National standards. She achieved three best times at the Toyota U.S. Open this past winter and finaled in four events at NCSAs over the summer.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Northwestern University!! Thank you to my friends, family, coaches, and teammates! Go Cats!!”

- 200 free – 1:47.84
- 500 free – 4:48.07
- 1650 free – 16:35.34
- 200 IM – 2:02.16
- 400 IM – 4:21.37
A current junior at Saint Andrews School, the NISCA All-American is a six-time Florida 1A State Championship finalist. She won the 200 free and was the 500 free runner-up in 2019 while taking sixth and fourth, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.
