Kelsi Dahlia and Thomas Dahlia Announce Family Will Grow In Early 2023
Kelsi Dahlia and her husband, Thomas, took to Facebook on Sunday to announce their family will grow. The Dahlias revealed that Kelsi is pregnant, with the family’s first baby due in January 2023. Both Kelsi and Thomas are products of the University of Louisville, where they met as members of the swim team.
Kelsi Dahlia was a longtime fixture on various Team USA squads, until she announced her retirement a few months ago. While she was also an elite sprint freestyler, Dahlia made her biggest impact in the 50 butterfly and 100 butterfly. She earned a gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in the 400 medley relay (prelims contribution) and she was an eight-time medalist at the World Championships, including a bronze medal in the 100 butterfly at the 2017 edition of the competition.
Dahlia was a four-time NCAA champion at Louisville and regarded as a veteran leader for Team USA. During her career, she was a gold medalist at the World Short Course Championships and held the American record in the short-course version of the 100 butterfly. She is now an associate coach at the University of Notre Dame.
