NEW COMMIT: Purdue University has added an in-state verbal commitment from Junior National qualifier Keira Kask of Carmel, Indiana, to its roster for the fall of 2023.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

I’m very excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic careers at Purdue University! I want to thank my family, teammates, and coaches for all their support! #boilerup ???

Kask does her club swimming with Carmel Swim Club and placed eighth in the 100m back at Indianapolis Sectionals back in March where she also achieved four best times. She raced three events at Juniors East in December 2021 and was a two-time finalist at the Speedo Summer East Championships last August.

Her best times include:

  • 200 back – 2:00.86
  • 100 back – 55.88
  • 50 back – 26.95
  • 200 IM – 2:03.20
  • 400 IM – 4:26.42
  • 100 free – 51.58
  • 200 free – 1:52.46
  • 100 fly – 57.88

A rising senior at the legendary Carmel High School, Kask placed eighth in the 200 IM and ninth in the 100 back at the 2022 Indiana State Championships. She helped the Greyhounds clinch their 36th-straight state title this past season.

She’s just on the brink of scoring range at the Big Ten Championship level, as it took a 54.55 and 1:58.87 to make it to finals in the 100 and 200 back, respectively, in 2022.
