Katinka Hosszu Set To Defend FINA World Cup Title in Moscow (Psych Sheets)
Katinka Hosszu, who has made her name in the sport with audacious schedules on the FINA World Cup tour, is at it again as she’s entered in every single event at the FINA World Cup Moscow stop that begins tomorrow in Russia.
Hosszu is part of the standard Hungarian threesome of Hosszu, Evelyn Verraszto and Zsuzsanna Jakabos who are entered in a combined 29 events.
The United States contingent is made up of Katie Meili, Katy Campbell, Becca Mann, Breeja Larson, Melanie Margalis, Claire Donahue and Cammile Adams for the women. Meanwhile, Jimmy Feigen, Josh Schneider, Tim Phillips, Brendan McHugh, Cody Miller, Chase Kalisz and Tom Shields are scheduled to swim for the men.
Kalisz has a pretty hefty load with entries in the 200 breast, 100 fly. 200 fly, 200 IM and 400 IM.
2014 men’s winner Chad Le Clos is also slated to appear with entries in the 200 free, 50 fly, 100 fly and 200 fly.

A World Cup just two days after the end of the World Championships seems a little soon and anti-climactic, though understandable to catch people going through Moscow on the way home from Kazan.
But what is it going to take FINA to get the World Cup to rival those in winter sports, i.e. where all of the world’s best are going at each other every week? There are some great swimmers here, and no poor ones, but a lot of great swimmers are missing. The Americans, in particular, are lacking most of their big guns.
