There were no new meet records on night three finals at the 2016 TYR Fran Crippen Swim Meet of Champions, but there were still a number of quick swims.

Katie McLaughlin cracked the two minute barrier, posting a winning time of 1:59.74 in the A final of the 200 freestyle. Kirsten Vose was just behind in 2:00.07. 800 freestyle champion Stephanie Peacock finished third with a 2:00.26.

Riley Scott out touched Madeleine Vonderhaar 2:31.49 to 2:31.76 to claim the women’s 200 breaststroke title. Isabella Odgers rounded out the podium with her time of 2:34.35.

In the men’s 200 breaststroke event, Sean Mahoney topped the podium in 2:17.91. Azad Al-barazi finished second in 2:18.50 while Zachary Yong placed third in 2:20.98.

This morning Abbey Weitzeil matched the world’s 19th best 50 freestyle in 24.80, a new meet record. Tonight she posted a 25.07, still good enough for the win. Liliana Ibanez swam the second fastest time, stopping the clock in 25.54. Jessica Hardy finished in 25.70. That time was faster than the 25.79 she posted in prelims at the Arena Pro Swim Mesa, before withdrawing from finals after suffering a concussion in warm ups.
