Katie Ledecky to be Featured on Apple TV+ Documentary Series
Without live sports for fans to watch and cheer on, sports documentaries are on the rise, and Katie Ledecky will be part of it.
ESPN’s “30 for 30” has been a popular show over the years with sports documentaries, but “The Last Dance” documentary by ESPN and Netflix about Michael Jordan has dominated sports television the past few weeks.
Now, Apple TV+ is getting into the act.
Apple TV+ has announced a new sports documentary series titled “Greatness Code” the series will tell stories of some of the top athletes in the world, including Olympic swimmer Katie Ledecky.
The first slate of elite athletes is set to include an all-star cast of NBA star LeBron James, Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady, Olympic gold medalist soccer star Alex Morgan, Olympic runner Usain Bolt, Olympian Shaun White and champion surfer Kelly Slater. Each will get a separate episode.
The series will be a collaboration with James’ Uninterrupted brand and Brady’s Religion of Sports, which the QB co-founded along with Gotham Chopra and Michael Strahan. Chopra is set to direct the new series, which is slated to premiere on July 10, according to CBS Boston.
Katie Ledecky has won five Olympic gold medals and 15 world championship gold medals, the most in history for a female swimmer. Ledecky led Stanford to back-to-back NCAA titles before turning pro. She swims professionally for the DC Trident of the International Swimming League (ISL).
