Katie Ledecky posted the second fastest time in the world this year this morning at the Arena Pro Series Mesa stop.The world record holder cruised to a 4:03.54, only slower than her own world leading 3:59.54. She’ll have a chance to turn heads again tonight as she returns as the top qualifier by seven seconds.
Cierra Runge swam head to head with training partner Lotte Friis and the two finished second and fourth in 4:10.51 and 4:12.10. Katinka Hosszu posted a 4:10.74 for tonight’s third seed.
Joanna Evans returns as tonight’s fifth seed in 4:12.47 ahead of Allison Schmitt in 4:12.70. Becca Mann (4:13.10) and Sarah Henry (4:13.64) will also race in tonight’s A final.
