Katie Grimes Partakes in Social Kick to Discuss Olympic Campaign
Some of the biggest news in the sport last week was Katie Grimes‘ announcement that she will attend the University of Virginia, consequently giving the Cavaliers their latest high-profile recruit. A two-time Olympic, Grimes obviously will bring clout in the distance and 400 individual medley for UVA, but her versatility will also allow the coaching staff to tinker with the lineup during dual meet and postseason action.
Ahead of announcing her commitment to Virginia, Grimes appeared on the Social Kick Podcast and indicated she was set for a collegiate career. Coming off a silver medal in the 400 IM at the Olympic Games in Paris, Grimes took time to analyze her efforts in the French capital. In addition to medaling in the 400 IM, Grimes raced the 1500 freestyle in the pool and contested the 10K open-water event in the River Seine.
In her interview with the Social Kick crew of Bryan Lundquist, John Mullen and Luke Paddington, Grimes assessed how she performed at the United States Olympic Trials in Indianapolis and spoke about the impact her coach, Ron Aitken, has had on her career with the Sandpipers of Nevada. She also shared some of her training sets.
