Katharine Berkoff, Michael Chadwick Open Greensboro With 50 Free Wins; Speedo Sectional Winners

The 2021 Speedo Sectionals kicked off on Thursday across the country with six meets.

The meets that opened on July 15 were in Lenexa, Kansas; Greensboro, North Carolina; Fullerton, California; Roseville, California; Geneva, Ohio and Austin, Texas (Western Region).

The Greensboro meet is the 2021 ESSZ Summer Long Course Championship. Katharine Berkoff won the 50 free in Greensboro at 25.64, ahead of NC State teammate Kylee Alons (25.73). Michael Chadwick won the men’s 50 free in 22.59.

In Fullerton, Laticia Transom of USC opened the meet with a win in the 100 freestyle in 56.63.

Not every sectional had the same event schedule, so here is a breakdown of the event winners from the first day of sectionals across the country.
