Kansas 6A State Record Holder Kevin Glenn Verbals to Florida State Seminoles
NEW COMMIT: Florida State University has scored a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2021 from Shawnee Mission, Kansas native Kevin Glenn.
He will join Arijus Pavlidi and Rian Covington in Tallahassee as a member of the Seminoles’ class of 2025.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“Super proud and excited to announce my verbal commitment to Florida State University! I want to thank my family and coaches for helping me get to this point. Go Noles?”
A talented backstroker and IMer, Glenn does his club swimming with Kansas City Blazers and is a Winter Nationals qualifier. He earned bronze in the 200 back and placed seventh in the 100 back at Columbia Sectionals in 2019 and collected silver in the 100m back and bronze in the 200m back at Des Moines Futures last summer.
His best times include:
- 50 back – 23.74
- 100 back – 49.68
- 200 back – 1:47.35
- 200 IM – 1:54.16
- 400 IM – 4:07.77
Also competing for Blue Valley West High School, Glenn is a six-time Kansas 6A State Championship finalist. He won the 200 IM and 100 back during both his sophomore and junior seasons, breaking the state record in the latter. He also led the Jaguars to back-to-back state titles in 2020, again lowering is 100 back mark.
When he suits up for the Noles at the start of the 2021-22 season, Glenn will add his talents to a training group led by Nick Vance, Ian Cooper, and Ryland Sun.
