Juniors Qualifier Steffi Beisel of Santa Clara Swim Club Verbally Commits to Arizona
NEW COMMIT: Junior National qualifier Steffi Beisel of San Jose, Calif. has selected the University of Arizona has the place where she will continue her academic and swimming career.
She will join Lexi Duchsherer as a member of the Wildcats’ class of 2025.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I’m very excited to announce my verbal commitment to study and swim at University of Arizona! I want to thank my family, friends, and coaches for being very supportive and helping me get where I am today. I chose University of Arizona because of the amazing coaches, team culture, and academics. Go Wildcats!”
A versatile swimmer, Beisel swims year-round with Santa Clara Swim Club and finished third in the 1000 free and seventh in the 400 IM at the San Diego Senior Classic in February after earning three best times at Juniors West in December. Last summer, she achieved six lifetime bests at NCSAs where she finaled in the 200m back and 400m IM.
Her best times include:
- 50 back – 27.38
- 100 back – 58.03
- 200 back – 2:02.01
- 200 IM – 2:08.93
- 400 IM – 4:28.44
- 200 free – 1:53.94
- 500 free – 4:57.35
- 1000 free – 10:26.03
Also competing for Archbishop Mitty High School, Beisel raced the 500 free at the CIF State Championships in the 2018 and 2019. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American finished ninth in that event as well as 15th in the 200 free at the CIF Central Coast Section Championships during her sophomore season.
