Junior Pan Pacs Silver Medallist Diggory Dillingham Will Attend USC In 2024 Following Gap Year
NEW COMMIT: The University of Southern California has received a new verbal commitment from sprint freestyler Diggory Dillingham of Bend, Oregon. He’s currently 2023 swimmer but plans to suit up for the Trojans in 2024 following a gap year.
His 50 free time is the fastest in the Class of 2023.
Dillingham trains year-round with Bend Swim Club under his mother, Megan Oesting. A member of the 2022 Junior Pan Pacs team, he tied for second along with U.S. teammate Kaii Winkler in the 50m free. He finished 11th in that event at the International Team Trials, also winning the splash-and-dash at Junior Nationals.
Last December, Dillingham placed second in the 50 free and sixth in the 100 free at Juniors West. He then went on to take second and seventh, respectively, in those events at Arizona Sectionals.
His best times include:
- 50 free: 19.52
- 100 free: 43.97
- 100 fly: 49.50
His best time in the 50 free ranks fifth all-time in the boys’ 15-16 age group.
Currently a senior at Mountain View Senior High School, Dillingham is the reigning Oregon 6A state champion in both the 50 and 100 free.
