Junior Pan Pacs Silver Medalist Rowan Cox Selects Texas For 2026
NEW COMMIT: The University of Texas has successfully kept local product and Olympic Trials qualifier Rowan Cox of Austin, Texas, home for his college career, as Cox verbally committed to his hometown team for Fall 2026.
He will join Austin Carpenter as a member of the Longhorns’ Class of 2030.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“I am very happy to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at the University of Texas! This wouldn’t be possible without my coaches, teammates, family and friends. Thank you to Coach Bob, Erik and Trevor for this amazing opportunity! Hook’em!!!”
Cox earned a spot on the U.S. Junior Pan Pac team after finishing 19th in the 100m fly at Olympic Trials. He earned silver in the 100m fly, and gold in the 4x100m mixed medley and 4x100m medley relay. The men’s 4x100m medley relay broke the Junior Pan Pac record.
No stranger to the program, Cox does his club swimming with Longhorn Aquatics.
His best times include:
- 100 fly – 47.51
- 200 fly – 1:46.41
- 50 free – 20.58
- 100 free – 44.15
- 200 free – 1:37.43
- 100 back – 48.07
- 200 back – 1:45.80
Currently a junior at James Bowie High School, Cox finished third in the 100 fly and fifth in the 100 back at the 2023 Texas UIL 6A State Championship.
