The 2024 Junior Pan Pacific Championships continued with the Day 2 prelims from Down Under.
The events for the session include the men’s and women’s 100 freestyle, 100 breaststroke and 400 IM.
Junior Pan Pacs: Women’s 100 Free
Australia’s Milla Jansen took the top seed in the 100 freestyle, just a tenth of a second ahead of the field.
Jansen, 18, got to the wall in 54.19, close to her entry seed time.
A tenth behind was USA’s Rylee Erisman, the 15-year-old touching the wall in 54.29.
The third seed was a tie between USA’s Erika Pelaez, 18, and Australia’s Hannah Casey, 17, both finishing in 55.06.
USA’s Madison Mintenko, 17, took the fifth spot in 55.13, followed by New Zealand’s Zoe Pedersen (55.48), Australia’s Inez Miller (55.64) and Canada’s Delia Lloyd (55.81).

Korea’s Youngbeom Yim, 18, swam to the top seed in the 100 free on the men’s side, finishing in 48.65, nearly a second ahead of the field.
Canada’s Laon Kim, 16, took the second seed in 49.71, just ahead of USA’s Jason Zhao (49.75.
Australia’s Marcus da Silva took the fourth spot in 49.89, the final swimmer in the field to break 50 seconds during prelims.

Junior Pan Pacs: Women’s 100 Breaststroke
Australia’s Sienna Toohey claimed the top spot in the 100 breaststroke heading into finals. The 15-year-old finished in 1:07.68 to best the field by more than a second.
Mana Ishakawa, a 15-year-old from Japan, took the second spot in 1:08.82, just a hundredth of a second ahead of USA’s Elle Scott (1:08.83).
Australia’s Hayley MacKinder was fourth in 1:09.21, followed by USA’s Addie Robillard (1:08.47).
