Junior Pan Pac Silver Medalist Anna Moesch Verbally Commits to Virginia For 2024
NEW COMMIT: The University of Virginia, the two-time defending NCAA champion, has landed a new verbal commitment from one of the most sought-out recruits in her class in Anna Moesch of Green Brook, N.J.
She will join Katie Christopherson in Charlottesville as a member of the Hoos’ Class of 2028.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at the University of Virginia! Thank you to my family, friends, coaches, and teammates for their support throughout this process. GO HOOS“
Moesch most recently earned silver in the 50m free at the Junior Pan Pac Championships, also taking ninth in the 100m free.
Doing her club swimming with Greater Somerset County YMCA, she had a stellar showing at the YMCA LCM Championships this past summer, even breaking the 100m free record. Her time of 54.33 moved her up to fourth all-time for the girls’ 15-16 age group. She won the 50m free, 200m free and 400m IM at the meet, too.
She also earned three gold medals at the YMCA SCY Championships in April and won the 50/100/200 free at Juniors East back in December.
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 21.97 (best in class)
- 100 free – 47.76 (best in class)
- 200 free – 1:44.10 (best in class)
- 200 IM – 1:59.34
- 400 IM – 4:18.81
Her 50/100/200 free times are currently the best in her class, making her an invaluable addition to UVA’s lineup both individually and on relays. Her times in those three events are already fast enough to score in the B-final at the 2022 NCAA Championships where the Cavaliers clinched their second straight title.
