Junior Pan Pac Champion Piper Enge Verbally Commits to Texas
NEW COMMIT: The University of Texas has received a new verbal commitment for its growing Class of 2028 from breaststroker Piper Enge, one of the class’ top recruits, of Mercer Island, Washington.
She will join Campbell Chase in Austin at the start of the 2024-25 season.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I’m so excited to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Texas! Huge thanks to my friends, family, and coaches who have gotten me to this point. I’m looking forward to being a part of such an amazing team! Hook ‘em! 🤘🧡”
Enge trains year-round with Bellevue Club Swim Team and earned silver in the 100 breast and bronze in the 200 breast at Juniors West last month before going on to win a pair of events at Pacific Northwest 15&O Championships.
Last summer, she was the Junior Pan Pac champion in the 100m breast (1:08.58) and also earned a bronze medal in the 200m breast (2:27.93).
Her best times include:
- 100 free – 51.04
- 200 free – 1:49.73
- 100 breast – 59.61
- 200 breast – 2:09.09
- 200 IM – 1:58.44
- 400 IM – 4:18.95
Currently a junior at Mercer Island High School, Enge won recently won the 100 breast and 200 IM at the Washington 3A State Championships, defending her titles from 2021. She led her team to the state title with their highest point total in school history.
Enge will suit up for the Longhorns when Olympic champion Lydia Jacoby is a junior.
