Junior National Qualifier Sasha Ramey of Bolles School Sends Verbal to LSU
NEW COMMIT: Jacksonville, Fla. native Sasha Ramey has selected Louisiana State University to continue her academic and swimming career and will arrive in Baton Rouge in the fall of 2021 along with Abby Maoz.
Ramey, who owns the Winter Juniors cut in the 200 IM, does her club swimming with Bolles School Sharks and finaled in the 200m IM at Greensboro Futures this past summer after earning a best time at Gainesville Sectionals. Last winter, she raced three events at Juniors East before going on to earn bronze in the 200 IM with five additional top-12 finishes at the Florida Spring Championships.
A current junior at the Bolles School, Ramey is a five-time Florida 1A State Championship finalist and has earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors. She took third in the 200 IM and 11th in the 100 fly as a junior, third in the 200 IM and fourth in the 100 breast during her sophomore season, and eighth in the 200 IM in her rookie year.
Her best times include:
- 200 IM – 2:01.60
- 100 fly – 56.45
- 100 breast – 1:04.35
- 50 feee – 23.83
Ramey will add valuable depth when she suits up for the Tigers as a member of the class of 2025. Although it took a 1:58.76 to score in the 200 IM at the SEC Championships, she has consistently made improvements each season.
