Junior National Qualifier Jack Troy Chooses Arizona State

NEW COMMIT: Arizona State University has scored a new verbal commitment for Fall 2025 from Junior National qualifier Jack Troy of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

He will join Michael Gorey and Trevor Boodt in Tempe as a member of the Sun Devils’ Class of 2029.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I’m very excited to announce my commitment to Arizona State University. I want to thank God, my parents, siblings, coaches, friends, teammates, and everyone who has supported me throughout this process. I also want to thank Coach Herbie and Logan for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. Forks up”

Troy trains year-round with South Carolina Swim Club and most recently raced at Richmond Futures where he earned silver in the 100m back and bronze in the 200m back. Back in February, he placed fifth in the 200 fly and 500 free at South Carolina Seniors.

His best times include:

  • 100 back – 49.51
  • 200 back – 1:47.39
  • 400 IM – 3:49.65
  • 500 free – 4:40.74

Currently a senior at Academic Magnet School, Troy won the 100 back and placed sixth in the 50 free at the 2023 South Carolina 3A State Championships. He took first in the 100 back and fourth in the 200 free at the state meet during his sophomore season, a year after winning the 500 free and placing second in the 100 back as a freshman.

The Sun Devils are now in the Big 12 Conference.
