Junior National Qualifier Auben Nugent Verbally Commits to Florida State
NEW COMMIT: Junior National qualifier Auben Nugent of Rochester Hills, Mich. will head to the Sunshine State next year after verbally committing to Florida State University for the 2021-22 season.
He will join Kevin Glenn, Arijus Pavlidi and Rian Covington in Tallahassee as a member of the Seminoles’ class of 2025.
He told Swimming World:

A versatile swimmer, Nugent trains year-round with OLY Swimming and owns the Junior National cut in the 200 fly with several Futures qualifying standards. He had four top-10 finishes at the Michigan Open in December and finaled in the 200 fly at NCSAs in 2019.
Last summer, he earned seven best times at NCSAs where he finished 22nd in the 200m back and 28th in the 200m IM.

When he suits up for the Noles in the fall of 2021, Nugent will add his talents to a training group led by Nick Vance and Maurice Ingenrieth. Under head coach Neal Studd, Florida State finished fifth overall in the team standings at the 2020 ACC Championships.
